intravenous therapy
Intravenous (IV) therapy is a valuable tool to enhance delivery of nutrients and medications right into the body. By bypassing the digestive tract, we can be assured that 100% of the treatment reaches the blood stream. When we use IV’s we can also work around situations of maldigesting (GI disease such as Crohn’s or IBS) or situations where a nutrient cannot be taken in high enough quantity orally (Vitamin C).
Phosphatidylcholine Therapy
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is known to improve liver function, but preliminary evidence shows it might do more. PC is one of the primary substances which makes up the white matter in your brain and other nervous tissue. PC also helps form Acetylcholine in the brain which is one of the important neurotransmitters involved in memory and cognition.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA)
ALA is a powerful antioxidant and helps to protect cells from oxidative damage and stress. It also provides blood sugar support for those dealing with blood sugar imbalance.
Glutathione
This is known as the “master antioxidant.” As it is one of the most powerful natural antioxidants available.
Glutathione (GSH) is an important compound naturally present in the body throughout life. Research indicated that production levels reduce substantially as we age. Glutathione plays an important roll in a number of reactions in the body. It is an antioxidant neutralizing free radicals and helps maintain levels of Vitamins C and E in their reduced (active) state. GSH also plays a role in detoxification of harmful substances and chemicals in the body. Glutathione will be found in large quantities in the liver to help neutralize toxins.
High Dose Vitamin C IV
Vitamin C is naturally found in many fruits and vegetables, but it is not always possible to ingest adequate doses to assist in and enhance the body’s immune function. With this IV you receive doses of Vitamin C impossible to take orally and thus can propel you body in ways beyond what is typically possible. We consider this IV when we want to support wound healing, enhance immune function, increase antioxidant level, and improve the body’s ability to metabolize nutrients.
Intravenous vitamin C therapy has been shown in some small studies to improve quality of life for cancer patients. Newer and preliminary research shows it may reduce inflammation and tumour markers with prostate cancer and breast cancer.
Chelation/Heavy metal reduction IV’s
Chelation refers to a chemical process by which certain ions and molecules bind to metals and minerals inside the body. Chelation is used to detoxify and remove heavy metals from your body. We offer different types of chelation IV’s each specific to types of metals we are trying to bind.
Each IV protocol includes vitamins and Glutathione to assist in the detoxification process:
- Calcium EDTA- It is used for the removal of heavy metals, particularly lead.
- DMPS- It is also used for the removal of heavy metals, particularly mercury.
Hydrogen Peroxide
Research shows that it has anti-microbial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties.
Meyers Cocktail Multivitamin and Multimineral IV
This IV combines a wide range of minerals and vitamins and delivers it right into the blood stream. These nutrients provide a boost to the immune system and can help supplement nutrients you are not getting elsewhere. Especially helpful individuals who have poor digestion and absorption, and those on a restricted diet.
What to Expect During an IV (Intravenous) Session
- Please try to eat a meal and drink plenty of water before your IV session.
- Once you arrive, we will assess your vitals and general health to confirm it is safe to continue with the prescribed IV
- Based on your specific prescription we will then mix specific nutrients in an IV bag and then use a catheter and needle to access the vein.
- Some discomfort may be felt during the needle insertion; however, we are trained to provide maximum comfort so pain should be minimal.
Sessions typically last 1-1.5 hours. - During your IV you may take a nap, visit with others in the room or catch up on work or movies on your own device.
